Ghanaian journalist and events organizer Afua Asantewaa Owusu Aduonum finds himself in a hospital bed after an ambitious attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest individual singing marathon.

Speaking to UTV’s United Showbiz on December 30, 2023, Afua Asantewaa explained her decision to seek medical attention, saying: “I am in a very comfortable hospital ward to get my system back to what it was before because that I feel sleep deprived for hours. . until dawn.”

Concerns about her health led Afua Asantewaa’s medical team to decide to complete the singing marathon on Friday morning instead of the originally planned Friday afternoon, December 29, 2023.

Grace Buckman, who led the medical team, stressed that Afua Asantewaa’s medical team places health as top priority, taking into account the onset of fatigue and the need to prioritize one’s well-being.
