2.1 Million Jobs Created By Government In The Past Seven Years
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has told Ghanaians to expect the government to create more employment opportunities through various initiatives. 2.1 million jobs created by government in the past seven years, he said.
Dr. Bawumia made this statement at the launch of the government’s latest intervention for businesses and youth, the Sunyani Business and Employment Assistance Programme, on Monday 11 December.
He added that the initiative, promoted by the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), seeks to support 10,000 businesses owned by Ghanaian youth, to employ 20,000 young people, whose salaries will be paid by the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).

He added that the jobs expected to be created under the initiative will be added to the 2.1 million jobs already created.
He added that this will help sustain and develop these businesses, in addition to providing job opportunities.
“The Business and Employment Assistance Program and other youth interventions under YEA and agencies underscore our government’s commitment to creating more jobs and opportunities for the youth, in addition to the 2.1 million jobs created by the government in the last seven years in the public and private sectors,” said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) standard bearer.
