Abetifi Zongo in the Sunyani municipality of the Bono Region has detained a 20-year-old lady for reportedly abandoning her three-month infant male twins in a well.
It was too late to save the two newborns rescued from a well near their mother, according to eyewitnesses who reported the incident to Asaase News on Monday (23 May).
At the Bono regional hospital, ASP Augustine Kingsley Oppong confirmed to Asaase News that the twins had been proclaimed dead.

He explained that the mother had been taken into custody in order to cooperate with the inquiry.
According to ASP Oppong: “Investigations have begun,” which means that the children will be autopsied by a pathologist. An arrest of the woman has been made so that we can begin legal proceedings against her.
