Special Prosecutor orders Customs boss: Halt all auction sales

Kissi Agyebeng, Ghana’s Special Prosecutor, has ordered the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority to immediately cease and end “all auction transactions” of automobiles and other products while his office investigates allegations of corruption and associated crimes.

The Special Prosecutor’s Office has stated that it is investigating the department about the sale of automobiles and other products between July 1, 2016, and August 15, 2022.

Therefore, he has requested that the following materials be sent to his office by 30 September 2022 from the Commissioner of the Customs Division, Col. Kwadwo Damoah (rtd):

Details and descriptions of everything up for auction, together with quantities and selling prices, auction dates, and the complete contact info for the highest bidders.
