Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president, says that senior high school students will get electronic tablets from the government.
According to Dr. Bawumia, “this game-changing development” aims to provide students with study-relevant materials.

Dr. Bawumia said that the move is part of the government’s digitization agenda when he spoke on Tuesday, January 17, at this year’s New Year School at the University of Ghana, Legon.
He revealed that textbooks and past questions will be stored on these tablets.

“This year, we are on track to provide all Senior High School students in Ghana with textbook-loaded tablets for their education.
That is a significant turning point in the game. The Vice President stated, “We will have past questions preloaded on these tablets that will be distributed.”

In order to enhance instruction and learning, there are also plans to offer free access to the internet to students enrolled in second- and tertiary-level institutions.
The government claims to have already awarded the contract for the project’s first batch of Wi-Fi installations, which will begin in some secondary and tertiary institutions.
