The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has announced that eligible relatives of police officers who are killed in the line of duty would be recruited into the service to make up for the loss.
The IGP has stated that this is only one of several new initiatives being implemented by the Police Service’s upper ranks to inspire police officers to perform at their highest levels.
“When a police officer dies on duty, we have put new mechanisms in place to guarantee that a relative of the dead officer who is competent gets recruited into the service,” the IGP stated in a public speech at KNUST on Thursday.
