Kwasi Kwarteng, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, has announced that students who took the 2022 BECE should report to their placed second-cycle schools by February of this year for Senior High School (SHS).
The Public Relations Officer stated in an AcademicWeek-recorded interview that his organization, the Ghana Education Service, TVET Service, Free SHS, and CSSPS Secretariat would meet on the reporting date following the release of the 2022 BECE results.
Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng stated that the management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will release the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on January 19, 2023, online at https://eresults.waecgh.org.
The WAEC has given the Ministry of Education (MoE) until January 19, 2023 to release the preliminary results of Junior High School students who took the BECE in 2022. This year’s students will report to school earlier than they did last year, he stated.
First-year students will report to school for the first semester from February 20 to April 21, 2023, according to the 2023 Senior High School academic calendar. They will then take a break for academic work from April 22 to June 18, 2023.
According to a representative of the Ghana Education Service (GES), this year’s academic calendar is provisional and subject to change in the event that it is required. GES claims that the 2023 school calendar will relieve teachers of pressure.
