The killer of renowned Cape Coast-based dancehall artist “Unruly Grank,” who died on February 7, 2021, has been sentenced to “death by hanging” by the Cape Coast High Court “A,” which is presided over by His Lordship Emmanuel Lodoh.
On January 18, 2023, on a Wednesday, the judge pronounced the sentence.
According to earlier reports, the murderer, Bright Ellis, also known as “Shadow,” stabbed the aspiring dancehall artist with a knife over an alleged music beef.
Born Emmanuel Aikins, 24, passed away around 15:00 GMT at the Orange Beach Resort in Cape Coast, the capital of the Central region.

Kate Swanzy, the deceased person’s mother, addressed the media following the decision and expressed her satisfaction with the outcome.
She also advised Ghanaians to occasionally exhibit patience when it comes to matters pertaining to court trials so that proper findings can be made.

She also explained her understanding of bail, which she had previously thought meant freedom for the accused, as was the case with her son.
She also expressed her appreciation to Vincent Nyenaku, the representative of the Attorney General, for his unwavering cooperation throughout the hearing.
According to Madam Swanzy, the verdict will allow the mother of his son’s killer to feel the same pain she did as a mother during the early stages of his death.
Papa Kojo Swanzy, the deceased’s uncle, expressed his happiness at the decision and thanked the judge for his unwavering sincerity throughout the case’s two years.
In addition, he cautioned the youth that there are laws that are always ready to catch up with acts of violence and murder.
